SEX MESSIAH x Asakusa Deathfest 2016
2008年神戸にて紅一点メンバーMOENOSを中心に結成されたSEX MESSIAH。
数々のリリースと幾度のメンバーチェンジを経て誰もが知るメンバー達による最強ラインナップに。それに伴いダークな要素を強め正に今回の企画に相応しい“DEATH”“死”に最も近づいた。
2015年にはブラジルのブラックデスの秘宝IMPURITYを召還。そして来日記念リリースを日本国内のレーベルより行ったが、後にアメリカのブラック・デス名門NWN!プロダクションよりアナログ盤でリリース。アンダーグラウンドデス、ブラックシーンにおいて確固たる地位を築いた。
彼らはNIHILISTが歩んだような道を2000年代に歩みそして現在に至っている。楽曲に漲る激しさは新旧のHARDCORE PUNKからのそれであり、グルーブ感は70”ROCKやサイケデリックから搾り取られている。
この一見遠回りとも思えるアティチュードは昨今、強力なパワーとなった。そして彼らは彼らのRITUALを見る者にDEATHを訴えかける資格を得たのだ。

SEX MESSIAH was formed in 2008 in Kobe City, by MOENOS, the black metal conquistadora of our day.
After a few line-up changes, the band reached maturity with the current members.
Throughout the years their sound has gotten darker and darker, piercing through the underground, entering into the realm of undeniable death! Their split recording with the Brazilian darkness IMPURITY was monumental, and was first released in Japan on CD and later on vinyl format from the prestigious Nuclear War Now! production. Around the same time of the issue, the band independently organized IMPURITY/SEX MESSIAH Japan Tour which demonstrated with its success the strength of the underground death/black scene.
Suffice to say they've taken a path somewhat similar to NIHILIST, except that it's all after the year 2000, in a way that the influence comes from many different angles as the power of the sound matches that of hardcore punk, yet the groove they have is reminiscent of '70s rock or even psychedelic. This peculiar roundabout way has now converged and definitely become their originality and strength of their ritual of blasphemy. The harshness will draw those who attend the ritual close to death.
